    Hi All,
Now I think that Firefox is really serious competition for IE !
After I installed SP2 to XP, nothing I tried enabled me to view some websites correctly in IE. For example:-
The Guardian newspaper would never load at all, the page content kept coming up, then cleared and started loading again - ad infinitum. On the BBC news web site, the audio/visual window would never open, even though the warning panel came up asking if I wanted the web site to open a new window and I clicked on Yes. The crossword solutions on the Times Crossword Club would not open. Several more too.

I downloaded the latest Firefox build, 0.10.1, it installed, imported all my bookmarks from IE, and everything worked perfectly. I have been using it as my default browser now for about a week, and I'm very impressed. I like the tabbed browsing, and the centre click to open a new window is becoming a habit.

Definitely worth a try, even by the most dedicated IE supporter.

    Roger

r.leale: Maybe I'm not awake yet. But I am wondering, what is the "centre click" that you refer to?

    Hi Keywester,
In IE you hold down Shift whilst you click on a link to open it in a new window.
In Firefox you click on the link with the scroll wheel, the centre button.

I've been using Mozilla Firebird for over a year now.
Which is basically an older version of what's now called Firefox, but without the email feature.

It's my default browser except in those few annoying instances where it doesn't want to work with a particular website ... when I use IE.

I read an article last week on what they're caling the new browser wars. It stated that IE would no longer be the dominant browser in the near future.
Microsoft countered with the claim that IE is still the browser of choice for 95 percent of the market.
