    Hello,

I seem to have a problem with my pictures especially if i want to get them off the internet.

    heres my problem:

When i go to any website or searc engine such as google and try to get an image off there and save it to my pictures, the only file types i can save them as are .art and .bmp.Even though the picture is JPG OR JPEG, the computer still only offers the file types i mentioned.

    Thanks

Try deleting your temporary internet files. Most of the time this will fix this problem.

There are a couple of good answers here. Try the TIF dump first.

I am still getting the same problem.

    This is what i did:

    DELETED TEMP INTERNET FILES.
    DELETED COOKIES.
    DELETED HISTORY.
INCREASED TEMPORARY INTERNET FILE SPACE USAGE TO 1000 MB.
DELETED ALL SAVED SYSTEM RESTORE POINTS.

    THATS ALL I DID.

    PLEASE GIVE ME MORE SUGGESTIONS.

    THANKS.

MOBO--If I remember correctly, .art files are AOL image files. Are you running AOL? .art files are a pain. It used to be that no one other than AOL users could view them. Things have gotten a little better
    http://www.dwightblackburn.com/aol.htm
However, if that article does not solve the problem
    1) If you are running AOL, can you switch over to your underlying IE browser and save from there? That should give you a full choice, assuming your TIF is cleaned out.
    2) If nothing else works, then as a work around save as .bmp and open in Irfanview (www.irfanview.com ) and then Save As in whatever file type you want.

Well guys this is what did:

I canceled and uninstalled my internet service with AOL.
I went with AT&T DSL service for $30 a month (saved my self $30 a month by canceling).

Everything seems to work perfectly now.

    Thanks for all your help!
