    Hi,
I have Mozilla 1.73. When I forward an email to an Outlook Express user, the forwarded message is received as an attachment rather than inline (what I key is received inline) . This is very inconvenient for OE user and some people can't see it or don't know to click on it.When I forward the same email to Netscape or Mozilla user, the forwarded message is inline.

I have tried forwarding with plain test, HTML and HTML & plain text but the forwarded msg is received in OE as an attachment.

When I looked in Mozilla help, forwarding, I found that one can go to Preferences, Mail, check on Compostion and could choose inline or attachment. However there is no option for inline or attachment.

Is there something I can do to get a forwarded msg to appear inline to OE user?

    Thanks much,
    Ken

    Ken,

Are you saying that you have no setting in Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Composition | Forward Messages?

See this Screen Shot. Is this where you are making the edit? If not, this is where you select whether you want to send messages inline, or as an attachment.

I hope I have understood you correctly.

    Ken here...
Thank you for your quick reply, Ramona.
Yes, that is correct, I do not have Forward Messages like your diagram .

I still have Netscape 7.1 installed also. Maybe there is some overlap of code.

Should I uninstall Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla 1.7 also?

If I uninstall Mozilla will I my profile, email, etc. be kept? (I will back up anyway).

    Thanks,
    Ken

I believe that As an Attachment is default, but it can be changed by clicking on the arrow to the right.
I have OE, but have not used it in Ages. It is possible that it has something akin NS/Moz, i.e View|Attachments Inline
I receive a lot of mail with Attachments which are downloadable as well as viewable inline. I would not see see them Inline, if I had unchecked the View|Attachment Inline

    Ken,

Are you sharing the same Profile with Netscape and Mozilla? If so, then that might be the problem. You must have separate Profiles for each browser, or chaos will reign.

    Let us know,

Good question. I think that I was sharing the same profile.
Let me explain my present situation. Since I submitted the question I did a restore of drive C to back out SP 2(I use Drive Image 7). When I restored Mozilla data, I renamed the old Mozilla folder at C:\Documents and Settings\Ken\Application Data\ and then pasted in my backed up Mozilla folder.

Now when I look at Edit/Preferences/Composition there is a Forward option which read Attachment so I changed to Inline and forwarding a msg now goes to OE inline!! :) That is great!

So now when I try to open Netscape 7.1 it says that profile, anderson.ken is in use (I had used the same profile for both Netscape & Mozilla.) I see no reason to keep Netscape 7.1 so can I delete that via Control Panel/Change Remove Programs? I will back up Mozilla folder first.

I also have Netscape 4.76 but that seems to have its own folder & profile.
So I think that is ok to leave?
    Thanks much,
    Ken

    Ken,

There's no problem with running both Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla. You should create a new profile for Netscape 7.1. However, if you don't plan to use Netscape, no harm in deleting the Program using Add/Remove.

Let us know if you continue to have problems.

I deleted Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla is working fine.

    Thank you much,
