A few days ago I inadvertantly clicked something or other on my Windows toolbar, and it repositioned itself from the basic horizontal position at the bottom of the screen to the vertical on the right side. In vain, I have tried to to reposition it back to where it was at the bottom. Nothing works. If I put the cursor on the left hand border, I get a double arrow and can get it to expand left and right. But I cannot get a double arrow on any other side, so I can't get it to move any other way. In the past I have deliberately moved the toolbar to various border positions on the screen, so I am no stranger to moving it. But now it's stuck where it's at. What the heck is going on? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

It sure is frustrating, but the only solution is to drag it back. Keep trying. You'll get it sooner or later

Don't try to place the mouse where it shows double sided arrows. This, as you found out is for expanding and contracting. Just find a sweet blank spot on the bar, preferably as close to the start button as you can get, and left click and hold to drag it back down. You'll see an outline of the bar as you drag, if you found a good spot. This spot "next/nearest to the start button" may be easier to get if you expand the bar as you have previously discoverd how to do.

I've always had better results if I drag the clock.

I'll be darned! You are absolutely correct rcerrato! I learned something new. Dragging that clock around works like a charm. I got the bar moved every time versus the hit or miss trys using the "near start button" method. :)

I am *one happy camper* that I stumbled onto this board and was able to reposition my stuck toolbar with the methods written about here! I do have a question though...somehow I have managed to get four copies of *Quick Launch* onto said toolbar and can't figure out how to correct it.
Any advice is much appreciated :D

By right clicking on a blank area of the taskbar:
Make sure, via the options, on the taskbar "is not" locked
Scroll to toolbars and untick quicklauch. If you have four listed untick three.

    Did they disappear?

If this didn't happen just grab three of those four off the toolbar by a left click hold dragNdrop, put them anywhere on the desktop and close em by hitting the x in thr right hand corner.

    ----------
Oppps, just had a thought. Are these identical toolbars? Are you sure they are all quicklaunch toolbars and not multiple various shortcut bars to other folders? I guess in the long run it doesn't really matter the gist of it is untick or drag and close the bars you don't want showing.

Yee-haw!! Thanks, Ann....I did the drag to the desktop and close method and it worked like a charm.

I've learned more here in a couple days than in all my various little books

Your most welcome Lilly. I'm glad this helped. Thank you for updating this post. You've found a great Public Board, if I do say so myself, and I wish you many new discoveries. :)

Seems you've done more, in a few days, than learned a couple of things. How did you become an M Plumley a.k.a. MisterP to a LillyDePlume? Neat gender trick, I guess this board teaches one even more than I was aware of. :) :D :)

Disreguard the above!!!!!! Is my face red.
Looks like I need to beaten with the stupid stick. It's been a while and I guess I was due. I must have been sleeping at the type writer. Sheesh... My error... two posters, I get it, slowww but I get it. Though, you got to admit, Plumley and Deplume are pretty close, so maybe I only need a couple of whacks.  :)
