    unable to delete one e-mail

Tried moving to another folder and after a brief time the message comes up with "not enough memory to move ". The O/S is XP-home edition, everything else seems to be working okay and this is the only piece of e-mail that I cannot move or delete....

d.matura--Is this message especially large? Do you have a lot of messages in your Deleted Items folder? Try deleting some. Then also try OE File|Folder|Compact all Folders.

    There are two workarounds:

    1. Turn off the preview pane (OE>View>Layout, uncheck "Show Preview Pane," click OK) and see if the message will then delete.

    Or...

    2. Click on the message right above the one you want to delete. Hold down the Shift key and click on the message directly below the one you want to delete. Three messages should then be selected. Delete all three.

If you want the other two back, open the Deleted Items folder and drag those two back into whatever Outlook Express folder you want them.

Go to Edit (up at the top of the OE window) and then on Empty Deleted Items folder and see if the problem message can be deleted that way.

    unable to delete

Thankyou guys for your suggestions. Have been unable to get back to this particular computer but will post back how suggestions worked. The one message in particular that I can't delete does have an 677.kb attachment. Have scaned the attch. with Norton's A/V but it came back with no virus detected. Have NOT opened the attch. though..Will post back and in the meantime thanks to all fer your suggestions.....Den...........

Create a new folder called temp or any name.
Move all the good mail to it.

    Delete the file C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{894A5E5E-4558-46D2-8014-EEA7E042502E}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\InBox.dbx

When the inbox folder gets recreated, move the old mail back.

    unable to delete

Thanks fer your suggestion and will let you know how turns out..This isn't my computer and I try to tell folks not to open these stupid attachments. They don't don't seem to understand that maybe the person sending it did not have a functioning A/V program, etc. even though they are a family member or good friend. They usually understand better after they get the BILL!!!!!!
