    Hi All
Been a while since I'v posted on here, but I'm back with a problem.

While playing a game on the intenet I suddenly got an AVG pop up telling me I had a
    Trogen Horse Downloader.Small.11.Bravo Mike.
I ran AVG but it said it could not quarentine or delete the file as it was in Windows System 32 Notepad X

AVG sugested a reboot with a virus free cd rom.
I presume this just means I insert the XP disk on reboot and reinstall windows and it should replace the file. If this is not so can anyone tell me what I should do.
I have the xp firewall up and runing alongside Zone Alarm.
Spybot and HJT are available if anyone thinks I should run them.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Stich

Unable to find any info on that particular virus, but if is located in NotepadX rather than notepad.exe, you are safe deleting the file. A HJT log wouldn't hurt. ;)

    Hi All
    Update on Trogen
Never got round to the HJT log.
Had someone come in and look at the computer and this is as much as i understood, but thought someone here might make some sence of it for future reference.
The Trogen was in the startup Notepad.exe file and as this was a system file AVG couldnt kill it. What this comp man did was shut Notepad down from the start up, rebooted and AVG cought it on start up. it quarentined the Trogen but on the next boot up it jumped to another EXE file then another. Eventualy it was stopped but it was found to be a cluster of virus's rather than just the one. He called it a startup mimick. I'm not sure if any of this will make sence but you never know.
    Thanks
    Stitch
