    Ramona;
It has been suggested I write to you as resident expert,. I am using Netscape Communicator 4.76. But the same problem persisted with earlier versions. It seems to be a chronic problem.

I write a small newsletter which I send to family and friends. Nothing commercial. I have been doing this for well over a year now. My mailing list consists of about 60 email addresses. I have been using Netscape Communicator as my E mail server of choice. Mainly because I know its ins and outs better than most others. Sometimes I have been told that some folks are not receiving them. I look at my sent page and everything is as it should be. I started breaking the list up into two separate groups and sending them separately. I still get complaints. I would like some ideas on the subject. I want to keep it as simple as possible. Is there a share ware program that would help me.

    Hi Geezer72+,

I don't know about that "Guru ", but I'm always ready to do some research to help my Netscape cohorts!

Does your ISP have a limit on the number of recipients on a mailing list? That is my first thought, as this has always been a problem in sending your Newsletter.

If the answer is no, then my next question is:

Do you address the Newsletter to yourself, then BCC: (blind carbon copy) the 60 recipients on the list?

    Lemmeno,

To my knowledge there is no limit set by my server. These letters had all gone suscessfully for a log time. I have the list split in two parts. That seemed to help temporally. When the letter is ready to go ,I use the bcc setting. I put the letter into templates and then bring it to the fore to send. I send them seperatly. The one list is longer than the other. When I look in my sent page it shows all of them there. There have been accidental deletions, but then the names are not there.

    Hi Geezer72+,

If you are seeing the addresses in your Sent folder then the recipient should have received the Newsletter....... unless the email address is incorrect. Then Messenger would ignore that addressee. But you say you have been doing this with no problem until recently, so this is somewhat perplexing.

I've found a few Netscape KB Articles which discuss the Mailing Lists. You might check them out to see if all your configuration is correct:

How do I create a Mailing List in Communicator?
Why can't I send mail to everyone on my mailing list?
How can I set up mailing lists?
Mail Address List doesn't expand; mail isn't delivered

I'll check further and see what else I can find.

    Geezer72+,

(I know you are not calling me.)

If you want to have a better solutions, you might consider an e-mail programme (such as Mach5 Mailer at http://www.mach5.com/ ) that specified for these feature or set up an on-lined mailing (or called newsletter) service.

Otherwise, try to check if you have all correct e-mail address and/or try to split sending (30 + 30).

To all; I am grateful for all the suggestions. Ramona, I have gone through both lists and culled out duplicates and obvious
wrong urls. I usually would send the letter placing list one and list 2 in separate bcc locations on the same mailing. If they
go out that way will the recipient receive two of them if they happen to be on both lists?
One other thing. Is there a way that Netscape will show the number on names on individual lists?

    Hi Geezer72+,

If you send your Newsletter using two separate mailing lists, and the same person is on both lists, then... yes, that person will receive two letters.

You could code your Newsletters so you would know which mailing list was used. You could type ML1 or ML2 at the bottom of the letter, or something similar.

Is there a way that Netscape will show the number on names on individual lists?

I'm not quite certain what you're asking? Do you want to assign a number to each individual? Or do you want to show the total recipients on each list?
