On most MS components like WORD, EXCEL, etc., the topmost pull down menus display only a few selections and it is necessary to select the "down" option to see the remaining selections. I would like to see all full menu selections every time without this extra step...

I have found the option to show full menus after a delay, but simply do not want to wait the few seconds it takes to do that. I am unable to find a "constant" full menu option, but if I have missed it somewhere, I would appreciate being clued into its whereabouts...

In Word 2000 (other versions should be the same or similar) it's under View>Toolbars>Customize>Options tab, uncheck "Menus show recently used commands first." Click "Close" or the X, the change will be saved either way.

Thanx Miz - I saw that, but was not thinking illogically I guess, as shutting off the MRU did not equate to showing full menus, but in retrospect I should have interpreted that to ONLY showing the MRUs... Thanx again, I will endeavor to think more obtusely about MS's options in the future.

    Keywester...
I think this is what you're looking for, right-click an empty spot on one of the toolbars -> select 'customize' -> then select the 'Options' tab, then check "Always show full menus ". HTH

    B,

Actually the suggestion by Miz resolved the problem, altho I did check out your reccomendation also, and recall that I had actually been at that panel before, to no avail...(that would have been too obvious...).

Because, I did not have that option with my '2000' version of M$ Office Pro, so maybe that specific option is in an older or newer version for anyone perusing this thread...

    keywester,
You are correct... I did not consider the differences between the versions of Office. That's one of the first things I change when I install Office. I haven't used 2000 in awhile.
Glad you got it straightened out.
