I need some help, a friend of mine burned some personal info on a cd before she left her job, she does not remember the program she used, I cannot open this cd for her in XP. When I put it in the cd rom it shows as empty, when I retreive the cd info from nero it shows 1mb of info on the disc. I think she may not have closed the cd when she was done, is there any way to retreive the info from this disc? thanks

    Hello kiddk,

    Two things to try:

Copying the disc, or adding to it with a small file to the disc in question.

I use a version of Roxio and if the disc is not blank - totaly erased or just the TOC erased - it will store whatever is currently on that disc and then re-write it out w/ the new file using if possible a new blank saving the original. I'm assuming this is a RW - this problem is usually associated w/RW's

I'm sure Nero would do the same.

    Regards - Charles

You might also want to check if she used the Roxio direct CD. It formats the disk differently so that a disk can be written to and used just like a drive but you will need the Roxio software to use it this is free to download on the net.
