Windows 95 Service Pack 2.1 or 2.5

Does anyone know where I can get Windows 95 Service Pack 2.1 or 2.5?
I need to add USB support to my machine and I cannot upgrade to Windows 98.

 

From memory Windows 95b OSR2 is what you are refering to service pack 2.1 and 95c is 2.5. Both of these supported USB with 95c (2.5) being a bit better. There is a USB download suppliment for 95 (95a) and I think 95b that you should be able to get from the MS site or do a search for it, as it will be available from many places. Remember that USB support in Windows 95 was a bit flaky in any revision.

 

This page from M$ says there is no downloadable USB support, and confirms Paul's info.

 

How can I upgrade?

So the problem remains - how do I get a copy of Windows 95 realease b or c? Microsoft no longer offers it and my OEM is long out of business.

 

Maybe you could find it at Ebay or a website like it. The problem is, 95b (not sure about 95c) was never sold at retail nor was it ever available by download. The only way you could get it was to buy a computer that had it installed on it (HP, Compaq, or any other OEM puter). So unless you can find it at Ebay or maybe find a friend that has it, you may be out of luck. This cd isn't just an upgrade for 95a. It's the complete OS.

 

Do a quick search using windows 95b at ebay, there is a guy in Austria who has one, for the next 16 hours at this post time.
