Hello everyone, I hope I can get some answers here. I just built myself a P4 System. I have an Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard, with a Intel 3.0 Gig Hz possessor, 1Gig or ram, two WD HD 250Gig and 80Gig, Nvida 6800 AGP Video card, Sound blaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum, 480 watt power supply and Windows Xp Pro. Boy was it fun to build and it works great. My question is I have two CD/RW drives (one is a DVD/CD/RW) and I can only record on one of the, not both. If I right click on one drive and click properties and and enable "redording on this this cd drive ", the other drive becomes unabled. Is there a way around this. I also have Nero 6 installed

    Hi dweave,

To check. Do you want to record to both drives at the same time?

Those properties settings may refer to the Windows XP burning system.

My burning program (Sonic) allows me to select which drive to burn to, although one is a CDrom drive....I tried it once for laughs, had to reboot after the system crashed, Ha Ha :D.

    CD recording

Hello Matt, what I want to do is copy data from one CD drive to the other drive but it won't let me do that. And yes it is the XP burning system.

Turning off XP's recording to a drive will not prevent reading from any drive, and it should be turned off to use Nero. See this thread for more information.

What software are you using? Are you R-clicking on the drive while in Windows Explorer?

Install those two burners each on separate IDE channels if you haven't done so already. (Make sure you have them jumpered correctly). You want the data to flow continuously when burnding CD to CD as it will help to eliminate errors and improve the overall speed.

I have two CD drives and Nero 5.5.

I open Nero Express and select Copy entire disk. A window opens and both CD drives are listed in both of the drop downs for source and destination. Works just fine.

I don't believe it copies from one directly to the other. I think the source is copied to the hard drive then is copied to the destination drive.

    CD recording

Hi again! Maybe I have not made myself clear or I'm not writing the right info.
What I want to do is drag and drop files to my E: drive, and that works fine. But if I try to drag and drop to my F: drive it won't work because the "enable cd recording on this drive is not checked. If I check it, it disables the E: drive. It seems that you can't have both drives checked at the same time. Is there a work around for this?

First of all do as Sparrow says, DISABLE the windows built in recording if you are using (or have installed!) a third party application such as Nero. Having XP's recording set can cause all manner of problems when another burning app is installed.
