How do you get the My Computer icon onto the desktop?

Right click in the Taskbar, choose properties. On the Display dialog, choose "desktop" and click "customize ". It's self explanatory from there.

Thanks Johanna, but I don't have a 'desktop' option when right-clicking the task bar and selecting properites. In the popup I have tabs for taskbar and start menu only, and there's nothing in them that will let me do this.

Homer, forgive me, lack of coffee, I suppose. Right click your desktop not your taskbar. I was thinking right, typing wrong, and I'm sorry.

Find the icon in Start/Programs...right click on it and select Creat Shortcut...it'll place it on the desktop.
