While in Internet Explorer, I am having problems when clicking on a link that opens another page. If the link is a direct link and doesn't open a new page it works fine, but if it happens to be opening another page, it just hangs up. Sometimes I am able to get by if I copy the shortcut and open another browser window then copy the shortcut, but that does not always work. I haven't been able to use the Windows Update function because of the problem and I am missing out on critical updates. I am running Windows 98 SE, along with IE 6.0.2800.1106. I ran the Internet Explorer Repair. I run Spy Bot and Adaware at least once a week. I also defrag regularly. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi, sometimes you need to run the repair tool more than once. The urlmon.dll is reregistered with repair. Try also Tools internet options/advanced/ and uncheck "reuse windows for launching short cuts.

Some popup stoppers won't let you open a second window even when you want to. Most can be bypassed by holding down either the Shift or Ctrl key when clicking on a link.

For instructions on how to register dll files, look on this page:http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers2.htm#blank_windows
