bitmap dilemma

    When I try and save an image from Google Images search I am given only the option to Save as: bitmap. Even though the pic is a jpeg. Why is it suddenly doing this? It wasn't doing this before.
    I tried some fixes, i.e. deleting temp. files; removing damaged downloaded files, as recommended in some microsoft articles. Didn't work.
    I have Windows XP and IE 6. Can someone help me fix this annoying glitch? :confused:

    I feel their pain. I followed the posts. There wasn't a solution that worked for me either. I tried those things.
    Any other help is welcome!
