Hi All: Poking around again, and in device manager, I find a new (I think) device I know nothing about, don't know where it came from or what it is supposed to do. Maybe came with Service Pack 2?

has a grey diamond shaped icon, last entry in device manager.

    Device:
    (icon) VSO devices
    (icon) Patin Couffin engine

Did a Google search, plenty of entries, mostly trying to get it to work. Somebody enlighten me?

    Hey Martin

I have SP2 but no devices like that. Could be a motherboard driver? I have Gigabyte board and it uses VIA drivers. The last thing in Device Manager is USB driver stuff for me.

Well, I've had this MOBO for about a year now I guess but this is the first time I've seen this device. So don't think it's that.

    Thanks for your reply

Did you install a DVD Drive?

This place mentions the things you have in device manager in the FAQ's. (question 13)

Hey Bmoore: Yes, About 8 or 9 months ago I installed a Pioneer DVD burner and about 3 months ago an NEC DVD burner. I don't have anything in program files that mention a VSO device or program, although I have several burning programs, Sonic, Pinnicale, Nero, X Copy, none of which seem to be connected with the VSO device, but apparently one or more may be.

Thanks for giving me a clue, I will do some searching in those driver files.

    Martin
