    I have a C drive with using 3.0GB and a D drive using 4.1 GB

I'd like to create a disk image of each drive on DVD, obviously using 2 DVD's so that I might simply copy the disk images back in the event of a disc failure and have a completely rebuilt operating system. All files, links, directories etc all in place.

It's not actually a clone as its a hard disk to DVD copy for backup and then DVD to hard disk for recovery.

Whats the best software, which is Network savvy, to use for a job like this? The three I know are Norton Ghost, Nero and Novastore.

Much appreciate any help and forgive me guys if you've answered this one previously.

I'd go with Ghost. Here's a thread where it was discussed.

Make sure you check out Acronis True Image 7.0 or 8.0. I've used it to restore multiple times. I wrote myself a little VB app to run a backup in the background every 24 hours so I don't have to think about it. Every 5 backups it makes a new full backup, otherwise, it just does an incremental backup.

Nifty little program. I believe there is a server version available also.

Chris, after testing, I agree, Acronis is a very nice piece of backup and restore code. Thanks very much for suggesting it. I downloaded a trial version and paid the bucks to validate it a few hours later. Its specifically aimed at the backup/restore problem in a wide variety of modes so I thought the cost of purchase was well worthwhile. Nothing wrong with Ghost though. Again, thanks and best to Daizy.
