    help!

i have read an old thread of this topic but their solutions did not help me. the original poster was able to resolve his issue but did not know how it came to be.

anyway, I installed Windows XP Pro edition and it successfully installed. But, when I tried to install MS Office 2000, it prematurely shut down.

when it tried to restart, i got a blue screen that said:

    checking file system on c:
    the file system is FAT32

then it stated that one of the disks would need to be checked for consistency. it recommended that the disk check be continued. which I did and the system did not find any problem. after that, it restarted and brought me to a screen which asked me to choose either:

    safe mode
    safe mode with network
    safe mode with command prompt
    latest known good configuration
    start windows normally

After choosing either "start windows normally" or "latest known... ", it brings me back to the blue screen and it just keeps looping.

If I choose any of the "safe mode" choices, it brings up several strings of file paths and then restarts and loops also.

I cannot get to the desktop at all to do any of the recommended solutions I found. I tried to clean install but when it checks for other Windows versions, it brings up an error and recommends that I uninstall or remove newly installed software or hardware through the safe mode. Which brings me back to the same looping. I cannot get to the safe mode.

what do I do? any help would be appreciated.

what can i do? please help!
