Okay, I am trying to help out a friend. She had 2003 Nortons antivirus installed, and went on line to download the 2005 internet security. Trouble is, everytime we went to install the program. It would be like installing, and then just stop and do nothing at all. Once we seen the program in the control panel under the programs installed, but there was no mb next to it, meaning that it was like empty. Does anyone out there know how this problem can be fixed. I've already made sure she got rid of another firewall she had downloaded for free. We tried uninstalling Nortons 2003 and that didn't work, same old thing happend. Like I said, it just like finishes, but does nothing more than that. You can see where it starts to install, then the bar goes away after a few minutes, and nothing. If anyone could help with a solution, I'd be very much appreciative. Thanks ahead! Working on 2000 Pro.

I'm just a newbie, but I couldn't upgrade from 2003 to 2004. Explorer kept quitting. It turned out when I contacted Norton that the programme was 35% larger than the previous version due to added bells and whistles.
It was taking up too much RAM in the download and thus explorer was quitting.
I suggest you check the size of the new programme compared to the last version.
Just something that happened to me, I got a refund from Norton as I needed a lot more RAM to properly download it and install.
