There is a site that I used to go to frequently. I used to be able to view the site with Netscape 7.1 and since changing to 7.2 (maybe just a coincidence) I am getting the following error message.

    Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0006'
    overflow 'cint'
    /javascript/top_window_just_posted_combo.txt, line 14

I am able to view the site using IE 6.0 (I just don't like IE very much). Is there a setting or something else that I need to change to be able to view this site with Netscape or am I just out of luck? Any and all help is always greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jim,

Could you post the link to the page, please? Also do you have JavaScript enabled in the Edit | Advanced | Scripts and Plugins?

    Thanks,

    Ramona

    Jim,

YUK!!! You forgot to tell me about the **** roaches.... Totally disgusting!

What version of Java do you have installed? Are you using the Java that came with the Program, or did you install a Version of SunJava?

I told you that site had "bugs ".

As far as I know the only version of Java I have installed is what came with the program. There does appear to be Java plugins in the netscape plugin folder, and also a separate folder for Java. How can I tell which one is being used?

    Thanks

    Jim

    Jim,

To see the Version of Java you're using go to:
    Start | Settings | Control Panel | Java Plug-in
When the Java Plug-in Control panel opens, click on the "About" tab. This will give you the Version of Java you are using.

Also, in C:\Program Files\Java the subfolder will also have the version. You should be using J2RE 1.4.2_05.

Yep, that was one buggie site alright!

    Ramona,

The version I am showing as active is J2RE 1.4.0_01-b03. Should I uninstall this version before getting the upgrade to the version you listed or can I just load the new version over it. Is the Java Sun site the best place to download? I could not get the netscape plugin site to download java for me.

    Thanks

    Jim

Bugs, We don't need no stinking Bugs

I get no bugs on IE or Firefox or Mozilla on the wmi.org site. Also get no errors.

    I want bugs!! :D

    Ramona I figure it out.

I finally checked my secondary computer here at work as I have an older version 7.1 of Netscape on it. It would load this site fine. So I went through and checked the preferences. For some reason under helper applications there was not an entry for text/html for Hypertext documents. When I added this on the helper applications page I can now access the site. I don't get the interesting roaches crawling around though. Some time you will have to tell me why that is loading for you. I have heard that other people that post on that site have had the bugs show up on the screen before. Thank you very much again for your help. Another problem solved. I hope I am good to go for a while now. I am sure I will have other questions later.

    Thanks

    Jim

    Jim,

Good news! That is a very interesting fix, and one I would never have considered. I will definitely add that one to my notes.
