on the 16th of this month, I installed Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool KB873374) from the windows update webpage. Since then I cannot use Java to pm in yahoo. There is a new update available (.net update) on the windows update page but it fails on install. When I type jwview on the command line editor it shos that the version of Java installed is 3805. I went to the microsoft website to upgrade my java to 3810 but I got this error, "Setup has detected that the service pack version of the system installed is newer than the update you are applying to it. You can only install this update on Service Pack 3. "

I am very confused and lost.

    - What can I do to update my java version?
    - Install the new .net update
    - pm with Yahoo using Java

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Robert

This is what I found at the first url on the list.

"...Note for Windows 2000 users only The Microsoft VM is included with the Windows 2000 operating system and can only be updated with a Windows 2000 hotfix or service pack release. A description of the Windows 2000 Windows File Protection (WFP) feature can be found in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article number Q222193 "

I have done all of the updates (2000 hotfix) that was/is available at the microsoft update site except the .net update that I mentioned in my first post.
