Slipstream question

Hi All.

Just a quick question.
Is it best to slipstream SP2 into my original XP disc
Or into my existing SP1a slipstream cd?

Best?..Who knows. I can vouch for the xp2 to sp1a cd which is the way I did it. Works fine.

 

I slipstreamed mine to the original XP disk. I guess it'll work either way. SP2 is an accumulative upgrade.

 

I would not slipstream using SP1a since SP2 has all the Updates per this:

This article lists the problems that are fixed in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). Service packs are cumulative. This means that the problems that are fixed in a service pack are also fixed in later service packs. For example, Windows XP SP2 contains all the fixes that are included in Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). You do not have to install an earlier service pack before you install Windows XP SP2.

 

I wasn't very clear in what I said. I meant that I have XP Pro cd with sp1a slipstreamed to it. I then slipped sp2 to the xp pro/sp1a cd. I could have slipped the sp2 to the original but the xp pro/sp1a cd was closer at hand.

I think I'll slipstream it into my original pre SP1 cd.
Hopefully there's less chance of things going wrong this way.
