Good Afternoon! Is .rtf (Outlook) a text format readable by everyone if sent in a document created with MS Word? If not, would .rtf text format be convertible to another text format that is? Thanks.

It generally requires Word to open Rich Text Format files when sent as an attachmnet. But regular Word Pad will open them as well.

I think RTF files pretty much span all formats and OS's. I use RFT to send info to a friend that runs a Mac and he has no problem with reading them.

Of course if you open one with Notepad or some other plain text editor, you may see several strange symbols that a text editor can't use but you'll still be able to see any available text.
