    Hello

I've got a Epson connected via USB and a HP Laserjet connected to the LPT port. I cannot get either to print. I get a error in IE 6. In any other Windows app is says "unable to find printer ". I can't even get a test page to print.

In the Sytem folder everything looks normal. No yellow question marks and no conflicts. In both the Epson and LPT section the drivers are listed, working, and no IRQ conflicts. Both are listed in Printers and the HP is checked "Default ". I've tried the Epson as "Default" but nothing. Yet when I go into System Information and then Components/Printers it shows this:

    Default Printer - Not Available
Using Print Mgr. Spooling - Yes
    Unidrv (UNIDRV.DLL) - 4.10.0.1998
    Gen.Drv (GENDRV.DLL) - Not Installed

I was running IE 5.5 before IE 6. I couldn't even get a Page Setup. I could only get Print Preview. I upgraded to IE 6 and can get Page Set-up on both printers but when I hit "printer" I get "Error- Cannot find printer ". I haven't tried to uninstall the printer for the fact one is USB and the other is LPT port. I figured some file was missing so I ran System File Checker. It found nothing. Anything else I should check or try?

You didn't say what OS you are using, but if i were you, I would make darn sure that you have installed the correct printer driver specific to your OS. Once you've downloaded them, use the device manager to update them.

Pull out the printer plugs and reboot the PC. Ignore any Windows error
messages. Shut down the PC, reconnect the printer plugs.
Press the restart button. Let Windows find/install printer drivers.
    regards

Check to see if the Parallel Port is set to EPP+ECC in the BIOS.
