I was clicking right along all fat and happy with 1.7.2 and then there was a security scare and I installed 1.7.3.

Since then I can no longer automatically sign in to my online banking account. I can sign in to this bbs which means my cookies are working. I tried to fix it by removing the password line in password manager and trying again. When I enter the username and password at he signon site, password manager never asks if I want to save it.

I have tried renaming the ========.s file in my profile and importing the .s from another profile. No Joy. I have tried deleting the .s file and letting another be created. I have tried everything I can find having to do with password manager listed in Ramona.s site and from posts in this forum. No Joy. I have not reinstalled 1.7.3. Maybe that's the ticket?

I'm shutting down for the day while my computer is still in one piece. Try again tomorrow.

    Hi Bill,

Removing the password should work, in that the Password Manager should then ask if you elect for Password Mgr. to remember the password.

Try it again, only this time exit Mozilla, then startup again. Give Mozilla the opportunity to make the change to your prefs, on shutdown. See if this brings you any Joy, or Mary, or who knows who else... :D

I have had more problems with Mozilla updates since 1.7, than with anything in the past, so I am not surprised if you have problems. I have always uninstalled the old version, and installed the new one, in the same directory. On top installation should work, but not with 1.7.x. Just do what Ramona said, and don't take your frustrations on the computer. Try to outsmart the programs.
