Continuous pop ups from internet explorer

When I am on line (AOL) I continuously get pop ups from Internet Explorer. If I just hit the shift button at times that seems to trigger them. Any help?

How familiar are you with the popup issue? While the security forum has lot's of information and experts in malware/adware detection and removal and they all have their own "cut and paste" prerequisite "to-do" list, I don't, as yet have one. You may wish to visit this room and run through the cleanup process with Lavasofts Adware, Spybot, cwshredder, further steps to take to remain clean...etc.

Popups have a root source...your mission, should you decide to take it, is to discover this source....
I recommend our "security forum" but here's a google link with much of the same advice you'll find in our forum. This is just to make up for my own lack of a personal "To-do" list: {Do you detect laziness on my part? You'd be right! I'm just to lazy, at this point to do a write-em-up. This will have to do for now.}

As a sidenote and if using some form of a popup blocker, some designate or use the shiftkey as a block bypass= meaning they will allow popups.
