Don't know if you tried this, but goto internet options, then hit the security tab and it should allow you to drop the security level to allow cookies. i increased this last week cause i was getting pop ups through norton internet security, but i couldn't access yahoo once i increased the level.

    hopefully that'll work.

    Mozilla works fine.

IE6 sp2 puts up the info bar.

Does your browser show the "do not enter" sign at the bottom showing restricted cookies being blocked? If so, Dbl click on it and show all cookies. I think you can authorize cookies from this particular site by Dbl clicking on the entries.

How about your trusted sites. Is bigseminar listed as a trusted site?

JoeD--Could it be that those messages are using Messenger Service or Windows Messenger? Does the title bar of those messages give you any idea of the source? Are these messages trying to sell you something? Both of these can be disabled or removed if this is the case. Post back for directions, if needed.
I went to the bigseminar site. My Internet Options|Privacy tab settings are at Medium--High, which is more strict than yours. My popup blocker showed that a popup was blocked, but I could view the site. I also got a notice that my rather strict ActiveX controls might prevent me from seeing the site, but it looked OK. I did not try entering information into the forms so do not know if that would have worked. I did not get any message about cookies being blocked, but I did not stay at the site too long.
So I am a little at a loss to know why you have this problem unless the first paragraph explains it.
Installation of XP SP2 changes a lot of your Security settings, so be sure to review them all. Don't assume they are like you had in SP1.
And another thing, if you had a third party firewall installed before installing SP2, you now have two firewalls since SP2 installs one by default. Most recommendations are to shut one off. I would shut the XP firewall off, since it monitors only incoming traffic not outgoing. If the above does not help then perhaps disable the other one when you access Gmail just to see what happens. (I use Gmail and have no problems with popups, even though I use a firewall and popup blocker.)
