    Hi,

Re;CUSL2-C PIII Maxtor Diamond Max 40 gig UDMA 100 7200, 512 Meg RAM

I uninstalled Windows 2000, now I can not get it back on the drive after reformatting "C" in Partition Magic 4. I can not get the computer to recognize the CD as a boot device, and I do not know how to set up First Boot Device in the BIOS as I have tried every option in the boot sequence settings. Am I missing something here?

    Bios is Award Medallion

    Any help would be appreciated.

I made the four boot floppies up on my ME computer, but 2k install would not recognize the NTFS partition as formatted by Partition Magic 4

I guess I may have to purchase a new hard drive to install 2k and use the other one as a slave to recover my data on the second and third partitions of that drive.

    Thanks

    Dave G.

Im not familiar with Partitiin Magic 4, I've also gotten any job done without using those type of programs.

Try fdisking the partition so there are no partitions on the hard drive and start the install using the floppys created from the w2k cd. During the setup create the partition size and post back what happens.

Thanks for the reply, I f-disked the whole drive, reformatted it in Fat 32, then I went in from Dos (win 98 se startup disk) I gave an e prompt then CD i386 prompt, then winnt prompt, and I had to install the slow way becuase I have no Smart Disk, but after a half hour I got the install going again, and finally got the thing on there again. I have no partitions, so I have a big NTFS 40 gig partition. I heard that I can repartition it by using "Dynamic Disk" somehwere in 2k's administrative tools and I will get that info as soon as I install my vid driver and sound card drivers, but before the apps install. Fortunately I only have about five small progs to go on the disk. This disk is for audio recording only, all networking printing and everything else possible is disabled. All the junk is on this disk (ME) I have a Hard Drive switch)
Any info on Dynamic Disk would be helpful
    thanks
