I heard that it wont run on my computer. Here is why.

224MB memory I need, but I uninstalled a bunch of large games. My free space is also 24.4 GB SO WHATS THE PROB????

Also it says this I don't have. Graphics Card: S3 ProSavage (This developer recommends the following display card(s): ATI RADEON 7200 Series, NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/Pro/Ti) I don't really get that.

So could someone help me out.

Did you try the game and have it fail?

224MB memory I need, but I uninstalled a bunch of large games - ??? Memory and installed software don't really have anything to do with each other.

    Specs for The Sims 2

    Hi,

Wondering if your PC will run The Simsâ„¢ 2? Well, comparing it to this minimum spec should give you a good idea:

    OS - Windows 98/2000/Me/XP
Processor - Intel Pentium III 800MHz
    Memory - 256MB RAM
    Hard Drive - 3.5 GB
    CD-DVD - 8 SPEED
Video Card - 32MB Transform & Lighting capable video card*
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0 compatible
    DirectX - Version 9.0
    Input - Keyboard, Mouse

This is the minimum specification your computer must meet to run this game. *The Sims 2 requires a 32MB Transform & Lighting (T&L) capable video card with DirectX 9.0 driver support (DirectX 9.0c is supplied on CD). Supported T&L video cards: NVIDIA GeForce2 or greater, NVIDIA Quadro series; ATI Radeon 7200 or greater. Non T&L capable video cards such as the ATI Radeon 7000 (VE series) and Intel Extreme Graphics 82845, 82865, 82915 requires a 2.0 GHz processor. Windows 2000 & XP users must have administrator rights to install and play The Sims 2.

I think you need at least 256MB of RAM, which is different from the 24.4GB Hard disk space you mentioned.

I am also waiting for the sims 2 and am hoping that i do not need to get a decent graphics card, as i have 256MB RAM, but my on-board graphics uses 64MB of it...., so my sytem 'fails' on the graphics and the memory... :(

    Liam

P.S. Newt, The Sims 2 is not out yet, it comes out on 17th September :)

LOL - thanks paddyslammer. Can you tell I'm not much of a gamer? Wife is but for me, I like to fish and the interactive games are better than nothing; I like to play duplicate bridge against a good program like Bridge Baron. But otherwise, I'm very game-impared. The last 'action game' I remember liking was Pong. :D

My kids tried to get me interested and gave up. More recently several of the grandkids have tried. They gave up too. :( :(

For the Sims 2 it says I need 224MB of memory, and on my comp has 24.4GB left of space. That is messed up.

are you possibly confusing RAM and Hard disk space... right click on my computer and click properties.. near the bottom of the system properties window, it should saysomething like "??? MB of RAM "

If this amount is below 224/256MB, you will probably need to buy some more RAM

Oh wait yeah it does say 24MB of Ram, but on the Sims 2 test it said that, and so it didn't say how much I need.

The recommended minimum RAM for the sims 2 to run is 256MB RAM. i need to buy some RAM myself, because my graphics card uses 64MB of the 256MB i have installed.... i probably need a graphics card as well, cos it fails on that as well!

    Game requirements

Bond: Need some specifics on your machine(cpu, ram, video) or the make and model number. In order to play anything new these days with a decent frame rate you will need at least a 2 gig processor, 512 meg of DDR ram and a 128 meg independent video card.
The minimum requirements are just that and depending on your overall system configuration may not provide the fluid game play that makes it enjoyable.
    Post back with system specs.
    Regards
