I am unable to access my DVD/CD drive or my CD-R drive, which I was able to. I installed 2 new programs (Roxio CD creator 5, and Acrobat 4). The CD creator was not working so I uninstalled it from the control panel and now I can't use my drives, and get error msg 31 when I try and re-install the drivers from the device mgr.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Matt

I had a problem a while back that was very similar to this. I think it was Adaptec Easy CD Creator. (same sh*t, different pile)

Anyway, this first site has a bunch of problems and fixes on it.
    http://www.techadvice.com/issues/how-to.asp?word1=Adaptec&word2=Adaptec

This one is a link from the previous site
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q270008

I don't remember exactly, but I do remember having to change stuff in the registry.

I hope your problem was the same as mine and that this fixes it. ;)

    That was it!

Thanks handgranade! All I had to do was remove Windows Media Player v7.0 and I could access both my cd drives! I also dloaded the update from Roxio CD Creator that fixed the known prob when you remove CD Creator 5.01 I then dloaded media player 7.1 and all is well!

    Burnin again!!!:D
