I have installed the google and the yahoo toolbar which both has pop up blockers. And I turn them both on, and I'm still getting a few popups. Can someone tell me why this is happening.

Difficult to say - like virus writers those who code the pop ups are getting better at circumnavigating programs designed to stop them - and no program is perfect in all respects :)

I have the Google toolbar and it's very effective at blocking those annoying buggers. Instead of running both the yahoo and google toolbar, Try running them one at a time. It's possible one is conflicting with the other and thus renders the other less effective than normal.

Nothing is going to block all the popups all the time. There are several different ways to generate a popup. Some blockers work better at blocking certain types of popups than others.

    Try this test: http://www.kephyr.com/popupkillertest/index.html

The Windows XP SP2 popup blocker did fairly well. It didn't stop everything. But it did stop most. There was one noted to be doubtful that anything could block it.

Somethings are not really popups, but just as annoying.

Well I hope sometime in the future they will make a program for blocking ALL popups.

Well there is also the possibilty of spyware and/or adware. Do you have precautions for that?
