Hello everyone - I'm at my wits' end here with SP2. I've never had the problems with a major update for windows - until now.

Here's the problem: I've been publishing web pages for years now, and was just hired to create a site for a local business. As part of my design, I want to use Apycom's Java menus.

I have used these menu's on a number of sites I've created, because most of them are quite attractive and give a site a 'professional feel'.

Here's the issue. With the new (keepin' out the swear-words) SP2 update, all of a sudden, I can't make IE run the menus! Every time I try to load the page in IE, the USELESS Information Bar pops up and tells me it's blocked the scripts from running. So I click on "Allow Blocked Content" and for some reason it still won't run it.

Now: I test each page I create on a number of browsers to make sure they look and act the same across the board (IE / Mozilla / Safari, etc.) IE is the ONLY browser giving me trouble.

Is there a way to shut the (use your favorite expletive) Information Bar off? I mean completely. This new "security improvement" program implemented in SP2 is entirely ridiculous (I can't even run an executable without the computer prompting me every time (Are you SURE?)...

So - It's obvious to me that I'll have to make 2 seperate pages, one for people using IE and one for people using other browsers... Most people who get SP2 won't understand 'why' they can't view the page, and when "Security Alert" pops up they'll avoid the site like the plague because they think they're downloading a virus (not kidding here.. I had to explain to an older friend of mine that it was ok to view the site, it was just a 'precaution' - He was going to boycott the site for fear of 'getting a virus')

Anyhow - Sorry about the rant -- I needed to get that off my chest. I think I'm going to get rid of SP2 until they work out more bugs and at least offer the option of shutting some of the more annoying "improvements" off...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone else publishes web pages, I would REALLY appreciate any input you can offer as to how we can get around this new annoyance.

    Cheers
    Don

Thank you - Yes it did help.. I did search, but it was early and I must've not looked through the posts thoroughly :) Thanks

I did a lot of the things mentioned in the other thread, but am still having a couple of problems.. SO -- I'll go through, try many things and then post here and let everyone know how I made out..

    Thanks again!
