Can I slipstream the SP 2 CD with the WinXP CD per the Infinisource procedures "Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Create Bootable CD "?

If so what steps do I have to change??

I did it a month ago according to those procedures and it worked perfectly. I've used it for fresh installs in a couple of machines. The only problem i ran into was one machine was missing the ipstack registry entry fro some reason(nforce3 MB)so I couldn't connect to the PC from the other PC's on my network until I entered that registry entry. The other fresh install didn't have that problem.

Arie, Thanks, I understand that, but now that I have the SP2 CD is it possble to slipstream 2 CD's

I don’t know, maybe one cannot slipstream two CD??

The whole reasoning behind this is if I give this SP2 CD to someone else(Which Microsoft has suggested) I won't have one, so??

Copy SP2 from the CD to your hard drive rather than downloading it as the article says to do.

I have waited to give my few cents on this since I have never even seen a SP2-CD but I assume that it contains other stuff than the downloaded file which is used in Arie's tutorial. Maybe it is the same contents but expanded on the SP2-CD?

I would try to copy the contents of the SP2-CD to the folder into which the SP2-file would be extracted and then I would try to integrate. If it doesn't work, I would expect an error message.

    Christer,
    who have now stopped speculating

Yea, the CD contails some other stuff (not needed), and the SP2 file itself also has another name, it's named XPSP2.EXE.

It is not expanded, and can be expanded in the same way as the downloaded file.
