System I am building can support up to pc3200 memory modules. Question I have is going to the pc3200 worth the extra cost over pc2700 ??? Is there enough speed difference to warrant the extra cost ???

    Thanks.

Some of this new memory is a little confusing sometimes. Am used to the older pc133 and below more so than the newer chips. But with everything going ddr or ddr2 guess I need to update my knowledge.

Thank you. Very interesting links. Being that my board can go to 800fsb I guess the pc3200 would be the memory to get.

    Thanks again.

I stopped building machines some time ago cuz it wasnt profitable anymore with how cheap machines from Dell, HP, etc have gotten. Cant make anything on building them anymore. Was able to get an case a p4 socket 478 board that will handle 800fsb with HT, burner, keyboard/mouse, speakers and the board will handle pc3200 for 30.00. Did research on the board and its not an asus or tyan or in the top 5 but the reviews were satisfactory so I figured I'd build myself a power machine and then sell one of my p3/1g machines and that way the total cost will even itself out a litte.

What the heck. If it comes out okay some gamer might be interested also. Will have a 256mb ATI 9600xt, 200g h.d. a gig of memory, dvd burner, xp pro. Should be a pretty good machine.
