Somehow I have deleted the path to this service? When I open up services and double click on this one there is no path in the Path box? Checked on my wifes computer (same winxp pro sp2) and she doesn't have this service listed?
Can someone post the path for this service for me to copy and put in the path box?

    Thanks
    Rockit

Ok .. This is what I found out.. It's something new from good ole Microsoft.
It came with Media Player 10. And since I got a error when trying to install it I now see what happened.. The error say's this software hasn't passed Microsofts certifcation logo testing or something like that .. This install will not continue? Anyway it did install the new media player but only parts of it is what it looks like? Is there anyway to install it without getting the compatability prompt? I manually extracted the update file and copyed the missing file to system32 (wdfmgr.exe) but would like to at least get thru a complete install.

    Thanks

Here's what finally worked for me.

    Open a command prompt

    at the command prompt:

    net stop cryptsvc
    ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
    net start cryptsvc

    Best regards,
