Am putting together a power system just because I got the board, case, burner, 350w psu for 30.00. Just putting it together basically for shits and grins. The board will handle up to 3.4g cpu and HT tech. and 4x/8x agp card. Will be putting a 3.0ghz Intel processor in it most likely a 200g h.d. and a gig of pc2700 or pc3200 memory.

So need some suggestions on a good graphics card thats under 200.00 with 128 or 256 and either ATI or Nvidia chipset. Am leaning toward Nvidia but there are tons out there so looking for some suggestions on a good and resonable card.

    Advice very much appreciated.

you can get an ATI Radeon 9600XT 256 MB for about $150 from Ebay.

Or you can get a Nvidia Geforce 4 TI4800 128 MB which compets well with ATI radoen 9700 PRO for about $120

Another question regarding your post. Theres a slight price difference between the 2 you mentioned but yet the mb is quite different. Any reason why ???

Seems hard to find an nvidia with 256mb thats not really expensive so am wondering if the ATI is of lesser quality or what.

ATI Is not of lesser quality. In fact i would love to get ATI or Nvidia. The TI series are For serious gamers and were made for gamers. But the ATI radeon 9600XT 256 MB is better, alot better. i would go for the ati because i can get it on ebay for cheap.
