Tried to upgrade from build 1.03 to 1.04. Followed the directions as best as I could. Ended up with "aawseplus.exe ". When I started to install, it asked me to
uninstall my PRO version? Which I did not. Waiting to hear from support. Joe R

Edit- Just saw Is 1.04 Dumb? Seems like some were able to download it.

    Where did you get it?

joeskys--Not sure I entirely understand. Have you purchased either AAPlus or Pro? Or are you a user of AAPersonal (free)?
    BUT
If you downloaded AdAware SE 1.04 on September 6, that download had problems. On Sept. 7 if you downloaded specifically from MajorGeeks, that download worked OK.
In either case, and you are still having problems, I would suggest that you uninstall whatever version of AA you have from Control Panel|Add/Remove or by using Uninstall from the Start Menu before you install the latest version.
If you have paid for Plus or Pro you probably should go to the Lavasoft forum to find out if there are specific instructions for downloading the new version.

If you are using Personal, you can just download the latest version from MajorGeeks and install (after, of course uninstalling whatever version you now have on your PC).

I just got the latest and ran the install. It stopped and said it found an older version (build 1.02) and suggested I let it uninstall that one first.

I said OK, it removed the old version, and the install proceeded to a successful completion. All is well.

    Ad-aware 1.04

Sorry I wan't 100% clear in my 1st post. Had the free one, got SE and then
purchased the PRO Build 1.03 along with the CD. All downloaded from
"element5 ". Yesterday, 9-9-04 I tried to upgrade to build 1.04 following the instructions from Lavasoft. The download I ended up with was "aawseplus.exe "
not "aawsepro.exe ". After some deliberation, I clicked to install and was told that another version was found and that I should unstall it, which I did not
and exited the install as I did not want to lose my PRO, even though I have
    a CD with build 1.03

I'm sure they knew 1.04 was coming out when they sold me 1.03. Guess they just wanted to unload their inventory
    :(

Am I correct to assume that neither Welshjim, Newt or FireDancer has the
PRO build 1.04. If you do, where did you d/l it from?

    Joe R.
Edit--Just read other post on 1.04. When posting on this, it might be a good idea to state whether you have Personal, Plus or Pro along with the build.

Thanks Newt at least I know when I eventually upgrade my version the installer will find the old version and remove it first. I was getting confused as to the best way to run the install as the last time I uninstalled completely and then installed SE 1.03.
Still worried about 1.04 but hopefully I will not have the problems when I run the update. Too many reports of things not working and freezing :(
