Is there a way to get my pc to get back to the way it was brand new, with everything that's been added since to get wiped clean? I don't have a CD or a disk, but I thought I read that some windows machines have the utility to do this built in to them. Anyone know about this?

"Some" (very few) name brand pc's put the restore cd info on a hidden partition. Might look in your instruction manual.

"SYSTEM.1ST is a Read-only, Hidden file stored on the root directory of your C: drive. It will restore the Registry to the settings when you first installed, and successfully started Windows. "

This ONLY restores the Registry back to when the pc was booted for the very first time. Would in effect destroy a pc that's been running a long time.

Thought that is what nwickman wanted. But may be moot if not on WinMe.
