Hi all, This is not easy and I have posted it before.
I need an app that, can be run from a command in a .bat file that
can close a single running app immediately.
    I have been using TaskInfo
    but it doesn't work reliably
    Any suggestions very welcome..
    regards

From the description of this program it appears the command line version of it might do it for you. I've never used it myself so I can't say for sure. Have a look. Process Viewer for Windows

    Hi,
    Whitphil - Win98SE
Zander - Many thanks, the command lines work fine so far.
Another +ive is that it is small and does not add any
    entries to system files.
    regards

Hi jubalsams, Thanks for the post.
Cannot find TLIST or KILL on the url you posted, and I do not have either
in my HDD copy of Win98Rk. Strange !
On the url you posted, clicking on any icon brings up a warning from IE
about the dangers of running command lines. Strange again.
In the meantime, Zander's suggestion is working fine.
    regards

They are in the \DIAGNOSE subfolder. Ya those M$ ftp sites sometimes get nasty ... just have to sorta try again. I had that site tell me i don't have privaledge sometimes !
Relooking at KILL, it seems to be about same as prcview command line tool. TLIST is nice. This is not the same as the RK on standard 98 CD, it is full RK.
Download cabbench.exe from netadmin/profmgr/tools and key in cabbench /? to get a neat M$ message.

    Best
