Frequently I want to search for a bookmark and find all the entries I may have of the bookmark. Then I would like too delete all the (multiple) entries except one. The bookmark manager (7.1) will not tell me where each of the bookmarks are located nor will it let me delete the multiple entries FROM THE SEARCH SCREEN.

Anyone know how to do this? The old Netscape Communicator 4+ would allow this.

    Hi rong103,

I wish that were possible, but not yet. There are bug reports on not being able to delete, and the inability to find the parent folder for the "found" Bookmarks. I must say we will all be glad when you can edit in the Search window.

Glad you wrote that Ramona, I've been thinking it's just me not being clever enough to use the bookmark functions usefully. I'm relieved but do hope those issues are solved soon.

Though it may be a little time consuming,
    Try the following:

    1. In bookmarks manager - EXPAND ALL folders.
    2. Perform your search ( be aware that search ONLY works on bookmark NAME - not the url.)
    3. When results are found, select the top results. single click. do not open.
    4. CLEAR the search field and full bookmarks are displayed.
    5. The selected corresponding entry will be at the bottom of the display with a lite blue/grey background.

Do with it what you will.

Repeat above steps. - selecting another results entry

Folders MUST BE EXPANDED for this to work....

    captjlddavis,

Great workaround, and thanks for sharing. That has the look of a new Netscape Solutions page... How about it?
