    I'm sure this question has been asked but couldn't find it anywhere in the forum. Does anyone have a flowchart on how to network 3 pcs together with windows xp pro. All 3 computers are connected to the internet thru a router and working fine, I just haven't networked them to share the files or printers and need a little help.

    Thanks folks;

    Each of the 3 computers that you have, should have been assigned an ip by your router (either DHCP or static).

    All computers should be in one WORKGROUP such as MSHOME, and have its own NETBIOS name. You can then use that name like:

    \\maincomputer\share

    where the name of the computer is "maincomputer" and the share name is "share ". You should also be able to simply put: \\maincomputer\ which would give the list of available shares. These lines you can simply put in Start>Run, or in the address bar of any browser.

    P.S. you can change the NETBIOS name of a computer by going to Control Panel\System and then Network Identification tab.

    Also you should be logged in as a user that exists on the computer that you are connecting to.
