I made a website with FrontPage. I made it to fit an 800 by 600 screen. On most computers the view of the picture I inserted is right in the middle of the left and right links. Some people have been calling me to say that the picture is overlapping the links to the right and they can't open them. Why would this look OK on most computers but not on others? I checked the resolution of thier computer and it is not the problem.

Can you post a link? Easier to troubleshoot if able to see the site/page.

    Either one would be fine.

If you don't mind and if I get stuck, I'd like to post it in a section used only by forum staff though. Several others know lots more about this web page design stuff than I do. It won't be available for general viewing. Let me know when you mail or pm the link.

I've read through it, what did you do to correct the problem?

mojo13, Since I currently use FP2000 I did the following: On the Tools Menu click Page Options. In the Page Options dialog box I clicked Compatibility Tab and under the Browsers section I selected Both Internet Explorer and Navigator (Netscape). Also 4.0 browsers and later.

The difference comes in for you to select the Browser versions that are compatable. (Sorry I can't help there.)

So I would suggest to just follow the MS 311341 KBA:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;311341&Product=fp2002

    Hope this helps.

I played with the site and sent mojo13 some screen shots. I could replicate the problem some of his users are having with my accessibility settings to ignore font size and font style from the web page. If I reduced the size of the text display on the page, all the right-side links would move to the left and hide under a picture. The left-side ones stayed put.

I've seen this behavior on other sites although not the majority of them so it has to be something in the way the page is coded but I'm no way good enough with that stuff to figure out the exact cause and a fix.

mojo13 - I'm at work now but unless you say otherwise I'll post the link and findings in the staff section around midnight EST today and ask them to post ideas to this thread.

I'm hoping irdreed's suggestion works, but go ahead and post it there. I need to get this corrected.

How about at least posting the html source code so we can see it and try to assist. (I don't kniow why you don't want to post a url to the site, unless it has questionable content) We are here to help out if possible. If we saw the source code your issue would probably be resolved in minutes!

It does not have questionable material, it's just not a public site for everyone to go to. I can email you the url if you like.

    mojo13,
Post back with your results. You got my curiosity aroused on this one, since you're using FP2002.

I suggest using HTML for that page instead of XML and you will have more control over it. Also, it would be better to use CSS styles for the text. This way the browser Text Size settings will not change the text size. It's possible that other folks have the browser Text Size set to Larger or Largest, in which case the display of images will be affected.
