For the last several days when I turn on my computer I get a box saying "OPXPApp.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close ". The date and time on this box is always the same: August 29, 2004 at 12:42.03 p.m.. I have a HP Pavillion A350N computer. What is this and what do I need to do to correct it? Thank you in advance.

Oh brother.....I don't even know what that is! :( I can't tell that this "program will close" message has done anything. I just close the box and proceed but it's a pain to have to do that everytime I turn on my computer. The only new thing I've downloaded recently is Web Root Spy Sweeper.

Well, that's the only legit app I know of that uses a file called OPXPApp.exe but I have run across some references to malware using one by the same name so if you don't have that software installed, it needs to go away along with anything trying to use it.

Follow the instructions from charlesvar and meanwhile, I'm moving this to the security section since we are keeping all threads with a hijackthis log in security.
