    Hello Helia!

WinME has no utilities on the CD to partition and format. You need the WinME Start Disk that should have been created during the first installation. If it wasn't or has gone missing, You can download one at bootdisk.com. Find the downloaded file, put a blank floppy in the drive and double-click the downloaded file. It will create the WinME Start Disk.

Booted from that one, at the A: command prompt, type FDISK > hit enter and follow the prompts to remove and create partitions.

When finished, format the partitions using the command FORMAT C: > hit enter and the same for the rest of the partitions.

Now, You're ready to pop in the CD and do a clean install.

Download "Windows Me OEM" but ...... ...... there is no information on the differences between Alt1 and Alt2. I would go for Alt1 and create the boot disk on Your computer.

Fdisk is on ME. You can download to a floppy.

    FDISK.EXE
    It's in \WINDOWS\COMMAND or \WINDOWS\COMMAND\EBD

    Hi,

The difference is that Alt1 and Alt2 are alternatives, just incase the first link is down.
