When I use various 'clean-up' pgms, I usually get alerts relative to 'files I can't delete', for various reasons...if I still want these files deleted, how can I override this block??

    Jammer,
Usually there is a valid reason why some files are undeletable, particularly .tmp files and .dat, although I've had no problems by force deleting .tmp files (within reason) As well as Kents suggestion, you can sometimes boot into safe mode and delete them. Other than that it's advisable to leave them, and if really concerned then investigate the reason why they won't delete. Presently on my W2K machine at work I have 3 .temp files in the Temp file under my login username that won't delete. They appeared a few days ago. I'll just leave them for the time being as they are only around 200K in total and of no real concern.
