    remove Welcome

The 3 of 10 Google pages i read show removing names, and IF the "puter is part of a work group, neither of which apply.
I was hoping for you or someone telling me how to do it..

I seem to remember something about disabling Winlogon.exe. In WinXP there are at least three of these. You could try disabling one, like the one in C:\I386, and see what happens. (You disable by renaming to winlogon.old for example).
However, I do not think you will accomplish much even if successful. Windows will still take almost as long to boot, and you won't see the pretty colors. :)

I myself welcome the "Welcome" word on monitor ".

If it comes up all is well ( most of the time )

At times when it did not come up all was not well.

In fact most of fthe time it just flys by so that I hardly see it.
