hey i just moved, i have a netgear wireless router and i have hooked up the cable as per the diagram on the back - cable into top slot of router then connect to cable modem then connect into the pc. i am receiving signal now into my router but when i attempt to access the web it will not send a signal back out (as per the green lights on the front of the modem) so it will not connect. any thoughts as to what i am doing wrong???

What happens when you ping the router from the PC?

If this is the same PC you speak of in the current security thread (so XP), if the router ping returns a value then start~run~cmd to get a command prompt then ipconfig /all to see all your IP values, and write down the DNS entries.

If they are different than the router IP, try to ping one or all of them.
