I have been using a linksys wireless g notebook adapter wpc54g for over a year. XP upgraded itself today to SP2, installed it, automaticaly rebooted and everything came back fine including my wireless connection.

I turned the dell laptop off later that day and the next morning when I turned it on it booted fine except now I have no wireless networks or connectivity. No networks are listed and my card is seen as "disconnected" by the MS wireless wizard even though device mgr says its fine.

I checked linksys web site and my drivers are up to date. No help there about the problem either

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Be seeing you,

    -steve

A couple of "can't hurt to try" things.

Boot into safe mode and then back into normal mode. I have no idea why but that seems to correct some XP glitches - and usually permenant when it works.

Remove the thing from device manager and physically from the PC then reboot, shut down, put the NIC back and start up to let the system re-find it.

I tried all of your suggestions without success.

I also installed another linksys card (same model) and installed the drivers from their CD when the hardware wizard requested drivers.

End result - same thing, XP SP2 "see's" the card as "disconnected" even though everything in device manager is ok.
