    Hi

I have a small network of machines and the Win 98 machine runs the older DOS and 16 bit programs. Everthing networks fine, except printing from the other machines on the network. The Win98 machine had a lot of printers installed, and I deleted these, to run a HP Laserjet 4M. The 4M is shared on the network.

Fine, except LPT 1 is still captured by the Canon BJ 34something that I deleted.

How do I stop this now unnecessary Canon LPT printer port capture and print from the network?

I don't think the problem lies with your 98 machine, but one of the other computers still believes this printer exists, and still has the drivers for this printer installed on it.

    Captured port

No other machine on the network has that Canon BJ installed as a network printer. The reference to that Canon printer port is found when I go into printer properties for the Laserjet 4M

When I go to select which port to print to, (only 1 physical port on the machine) it says "Print to the following port LPT (CanonLPT Printer Port) "

I want to get rid of that as I cannot print to the 4M from the network.
