    Hi,
I have been trying to install Java on my computer because I am now anable to see certain games etc.

When I try to install what I downloaded, all I get is thi:

'' The installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection proxy settings. Please check the installation notes for more information. "

The thing is, I cannot see or find thos installation notes..

    What shall I do.

    Thanks in advance,

In the instructions given on the site, it says this: "Enter the name of your proxy server in the Address field and the port number in the Port field. "

What I wanted to ask, is what if I do not know the name of the proxy server or the port number?..I don't know these... can you help?

    Thanks again..

I am downloading the offline package now as the first site posted above here suggested. But in the instructions they give, they mentioned that those fields (the ones I mentioned above) would have to be filled in.

The download isn't done yet, but I was just wondering about that info incase I needed it when I have to install after the download is over. :)

I just came back to say that I didn't understand what I needed to do...sorry my mistake. Now I understand your reply...

It doesn't seem like I'll be needing to use what I asked for..:)

    Thanks again.

I'm glad this worked for you. Having the download saved on the harddisk and manually installing it yourself closes the window of opportunity for a problematic autoupdate. You have the added advantage of being able to uninstall and reinstall or install on top of self should the occasion be needed, without having to download the thing again and in your case messing with settings that may or should not be messed with.

Your most welcome and thank you for the update. :)
