I have just bought a new server with Small Business Server 2003.
Using the Internet Connection Wizard has set up a connection called "Small Business Server Connectin ", but this is not visible in the Network Connections window. Nor does an icon appear for it in the system tray.

As a result I can't see when it's active, what speed it is, nor can I disconnect it!

Can anyone tell me how to make it visible in Network Connections and how to get it in the System Tray?

Modem dial-up. This works (automatically) but as I say, doesn't show in the Connections or in the SysTray.

I don't have a dial-up connection to look at but both my wired NIC and HSRA ones have a check box to force or deny display in the system tray.

The dialer is actually part of the firewall on sbs if you used the wizard. I dont have an install handy to see if there is a way to force a tray icon. Not to be nutty, but why do you care about a tray icon for a server? Is this going to be a workstation where someone is logged in most of the time? I'm pretty sure in one of the MMCs (cant remember if its ISA or routing) shows connection state though. Sorry i cant fact check, working from memory

    Thanks Joe

I intend to use this as a server when working at home, so it doesn't need permanent connection to the 'net. As we don't have broadband yet (BT in the UK is a bit slow in getting to those of us in small rural villages!) the line is a true dial-up for the moment. That means associated costs (local calls are not free in the UK).

Hence I want to see the icon so I can drop the line without turning off the server, and also so I can see if a **** line has given me a slow connection. Then I could redial.
